Mechanics were jump starting a drill with a 4yd LHD. The 4yd LHD has a side panel installed over the engine compartment to help suppress noise. The miner was closing the hood when the hood became hung up on a clevis pin used to lift the engine cover. When the miner pushed the hood it sprung back and hyper-extended his wrist. A fracture occurred in wrist bone.
