Narrative

Employee stated that while burning holes in rail at the bottom of #1 passway, a piece of slag went into his ear causing burn in his right ear. At this time it was believed that the burn was superficial. After further evaluation, it was determined that he had perforated ear drum. Ee continued to work and on 3-15-04 was operated on to repair the ear drum.
