## Narrative

The employee was showing another employee where to put cutting edges. He moved his hands in the direction of the metal shelf, smashing his left ring finger between the metal shelf and the cutting edge.  He reported the injury, but did not seek care until 3 days later. X-rays reveled the tip of the bone broken in three pieces and the tendon also involved.
