## Narrative

ON SEPT. 7, 2004 EE REPORTED THAT HE HAD BEEN HAVING BACK PAIN FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS AND THAT ON THE 3RD THE PAIN BECAME WORSE WHILE RIDING IN A DIESEL PERSONNEL CARRIER. THE PAIN SUBSIDED BUT ON THE 8TH HE HAD SEVERE PAIN IN HIS LOWER BACK, HIP AND RIGHT LEG BUT COULDN'T RECALL ANY PARTICULAR INCIDENT.  A SEPT. 27  DOCTOR'S LETTER REPORTED THE CONDITION TO BE WORK-RELATED.
