The Supervisor/employee was in the process of assisting in the fueling of the Hitachi 450 track hoe. After placing the fuel nozzle in the tank, and while waiting for the fueling to complete, he decided to sit on the step and wait. While turning to sit on the step he mistepped and fell from the track, causing a broken rib.
