Narrative

He was attempting to rotate the shearer drum. When he placed his hand on the drum, a piece of rock fell and caught his left hand between the rock and the drum. This caused a crushing injury to his left hand with injury to the middle and ring fingers, and amputation of the left index finger. (left index finger and left middle finger to the second knuckle by Misc Mail 6/23/05 #1)
