## Narrative

A small shard of metal broke off of the sledgehammer the miner was using to trim rock and lodged in his right leg approx 4"" below the knee. He was taken to the E.R. where the shard was removed and 3 stitches were applied. Miner was released for work immediately but was given 2 days off.
