Employee cut and fractured left thumb when a socket broke and contacted finger while working on an engine, sent to clinic. He was working on a haul truck engine removing the rear aftercooler bolts using an impact gun and a wobbly socket. The socket came apart-striking his left thumb causing a laceration and a fracture of the thumb bone. He received stitches and a splint.
