EE CUT STRIPS OF 1"" STEEL PLATE (1"" X 3"" X 7'6"" LONG) & ANOTHER PIECE OF APPROX. 3' SQUARE. HE SET THE 3' PIECE ON TOP OF THE STRIPS & WELDED LIFTING EYE IN CENTER. HE WENT TO LIFT WITH THE CRANE & THE PIECE SWUNG & KNOCKED OFF ONE OF THE STRIPS & IT HIT HIM ON TOP OF THE RIGHT FOOT, CAUSING A SERIOUS CONTUSION. 9/13/05: later diag.: fracture; in 2nd cast - will be long term.
