## Narrative

At the time of the incident the employee was replacing the top bearing on a rear suspension strut of a CAT 793 off-highway truck. As the top strut pin was being removed from its bore, the pin broke loose suddenly, pinching his left index finger between the pin and the strut sensor.  Five sutures were required to close the resulting laceration.
