Build-up of fine clinker had accumulated in the clinker cooler. The clinker cooler baghouse was by-passed due to concern for overheating the baghouse cloth bags. The discharge gases heated up the insulation under the roof decking to the point that the insulation caught fire and smoldered. Fire was extinguished with no injuries and no major equipment damage.
