The employee was operating a battery scoop cleaning the faces of the working section. He drove the scoop across a hole in the mine floor causing him to become slightly air-borne in the operators compartment. The force sustained to his back upon impact caused a bulging disc in his back. An MRI was done and he has been referred to specialists for further medical attention.
