## Narrative

Employee was assisting the maintenance crew pulling the #8 belt back together, using a 1/2"" cable.  Pulling one end of the belting caused slack in the cable. While unhooking the cable in an attempt to attach the cable to the other end, when the cable was unhooked, the excessive weight from the cable caused it to release itself, hitting employee on the back of his left leg.
