## Narrative

At the time of the incident the tech was working on the front slack adjuster on a CAT 793 haul truck. To access the slack adjuster the tech removed the two front bolts and loosened the two back bolts that hold a step in place above the adjuster. With the bolts out, he tipped the step up and out of the way. As he was working the step dropped down, pinching and fracturing his finger.
