A cement block fell from a wing wall and struck him on the side of the foot while seating in a chair at the waiting area of the slope bottom. Cause of this injury was safety awareness. Compliance with rules/regs was not a factor, protective equipment was ok, miner proficiency a factor, mining equipment/systems not a factor.
