A mine maintenance employee was performing maintenance work in the #1 production shaft, when his left eye became irritated. On May 12th his eye was still irritated, he was taken to an optomitrist for evaluation. The employee had a small piece of metal embedded in the eye. The metal was removed and the employee was given antibotic drops for the eye.
