Employee was scaling loose material from the mine roof with a slate bar in #3 Entry, E-19 Section when a piece of rock 4 1/2"" wide, 24"" long & 1"" thick fell & struck him on the left arm causing a laceration requiring 10 sutures. Employee was wearing long sleeves.
