Employee reported: Operating roof bolter in face area. After pressurizing drill steel against mine roof, when he engaged the drill head rotation a small sliver of draw page thin 1"" x 1"" flew from the drill steel striking his left eye lid. He received medical treatment resulting in 5 sutures to close the 1/2"" laceration to his eye lid.
