## Narrative

Employee was stepping from a vehicle, did not notice drop in floor level. As his feet engaged the floor, he  felt pain in his back. He was released to work but the condition continued to worsen. Employee received surgery on May 10, 2010, causing this to be a lost time. Medical professionals had to advise whether this was an illness or injury before reporting.
