## Narrative

While attempting to pull down a rib that MSHA had deemed a hazard and using a slate bar a small piece of the rib broke off allowing him to fall backwards striking the back of his head on an unknown object. The impact caused an open laceration approximately 1.5"" long that required sutures to close. He returned to work after treatment without restrictions.
