Narrative

An ignition occurred on the 9 West longwall face at #107 shield. A orange flame was observed at the mine roof that lasted about one minute around the tailgate shearer drum. The area was checked for methane which was .015% CH4. The shearer was stopped and power knocked. Cause may have been worn bits on the shearer drum.
