While six maintenance personnel were replacing three grizzly bars in the #5 Clinker Cooler, they came in contact with hot dust and air and suffered serious burns. Before entering the cooler, production and maintenance personnel executed procedures to prevent material flow, empty the cooler, remove loose material, and lock out operating equipment.
