## Narrative

A D-ii operator noticed smoke under the cab of the D-11 operator working beside him. The operator of the D-11 that was smoking shut the machine down and with the help of the foreman tried to extinguish the smoke after about ten minutes the fire department was called because they could not get the fire out. The pit was evacuated at this time.
