Employee was operating a continuous miner, the shuttle car was loaded and left the miner. Employee stepped behind the miner to check his site line on the mine roof. The shuttle car had to back up due to loose coal on the mine floor. As the car backed up it struck his right leg, causing a fracture. He started missing time on 10/17/2011.
