The hoist brake engaged due to losing air pressure through the air valve weep hole. Miners started evacuating the mine at 8:30 a.m. and were on the surface at 8:45 a.m. The hoist brake valve was repaired. The hoist was tested and miners returned underground at 11:00 a.m.
