While changing miner bits struck the bit wrench with a hammer and a piece of metal 1/8"" in diameter pierced his glove and became lodged in the palm of his left hand. The metal was removed by a physician and the wound closed with sutures. He was initially restricted from returning to full duty to keep the area clean and prevent infection.
