A mulching machine was clearing a pipeline right of way. The mulching machine contacted a pine tree and the top of the tree broke off and fell onto a set of power lines. An arc from the power line started a fire which spread rapidly. Three fire departments and the forestry service responded. The fire burned approximately 4 acres and was contained within three hours.
