## Narrative

He was filling in on section as a utility man.  He was standing next to the continuous miner while the operator was cutting coal.  A piece of material 4 feet long by 2 feet wide and 1 1/2 inches thick came out of the top and struck his left shoulder causing a separated shoulder.  He was wearing all of his Personal Protective Equipment and the crew stated that the top was good.
