Employee was helping to recover longwall rail. His buddy had pried rail up with slate bar to remove fish plate bolts. The slate bar slipped allowing the rails to shift pinching his thumb. Employee worked next two days but thumb did not improve. He had x-ray on Thursday, followed up with plastic surgeon on Friday & was released to full duty & returned to work Friday afternoon.
