At approximately 1:45 pm on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 a brush fire was reported at the Lompoc Mine. The brush fire occurred in a vegetated part of the property, but not in an active working area of the mine. The origin of the fire is still under investigation. The facility was evacuated safely and no persons were injured and no structures damaged as a result of the fire.
