While walking the employee stated that his foot got stuck in the mud.  As he pulled his foot out, he twisted his left knee and felt a popping sensation and a sharp pain.  The accident did not involve any aspect of compliance with rules or regulations, nor any mining equipment.  The incident did not involve any personal protective equipment.
