During part 50 audit, it was determined this injury was reportable. Employee was removing a hose from inside shield, used hammer to break loose fitting, hit thumb instead of fitting. Cause of this injury was inattention. Compliance with rules/regs. mining equip/systems not a factor, PPE and miner proficiency may be a factor.
