Narrative

During Part 50 audit it was determined that this injury was reportable. Employee was removing a cutter shaft on shearer and hot fluid contacted his hands causing 2nd degree burns. Cause of the injury was not releasing all pressure. Compliance with company rules a factor, PPE a factor, miner proficiency may be a factor, mining equip/systems not a factor.
