Employee was building a wall and dropped a block. The block struck the end of a shovel causing the handle to strike employee in the right ear resulting in a laceration. PPE was not a factor, mining equipment/systems was not a factor, compliance rules/regs was a factor, miner proficiency may have been a factor.
