While drilling a 12' hole for a torque bolt employee was struck in the left ring finger by drill steel. Cause of the injury was employee not holding drill steel in the top when adding additional steel. PPE was not a factor, mining systems was a factor, compliance rules/regs was a factor, miner proficiency may have been a factor.
