A welder was placed on the flat end of a jeep being transported into the mine via the cage/hoist. During desent the jeep coupler lip caught on the shaft apron causing the jeep to be tilted upward allowing the welder to slide from the jeep and travel to the shaft bottom. MSHA inspector investigated the incident.
