## Narrative

Mechanic was removing a ripper tooth from a dozer. Employee struck ripper with a hammer to break it loose from the shank. When the hammer struck the ripper tooth, a small piece of metal struck the mechanic in the right leg below the knee, resulting in a foreign body that had to be removed by a doctor. Stitches were required.
