Employee was using a knife to cut a nylon winch rope when the knife slipped resulting in a laceration to the thumb. Employee's lack of awareness was the cause of this incident. PPE was not a factor, mining equipment/mining systems was not a factor, mining rules/regs was not a factor, miner proficiency was a factor.
