The mine's Safety Department received notification on July 14, 2015 that this retired former employee was granted an award for permanent impairment from noise-induced hearing loss. The incident was caused by the employee's failure to wear the appropriate PPE - hearing protection throughout his career. The employee retired on 08/01/2014.
