## Narrative

Miner was using a hammer to break off the shank of self-drilling screws (Tek screws) when one broke, deflected off of a beam and struck the miner in the left eye. Miner was wearing dark safety glasses and based on the type of injury, was not wearing them properly at the time of the injury. Miner should have been wearing a face shield with safety glasses per company policy.
