## Narrative

A contract employee was assisting to help repair the track on a continuous miner. When he was swinging a 12 lb. sledge hammer the sledge hammer glanced off the pin hammer, pinching his left index finger between the sledge handle and a steel rub rail on the side of the continuous miner. The injuries incurred were a laceration and fracture of the left index finger.
