Employee was spotting roof bolts outby for a board row to be used when erecting an airlock. EE drilled a starter hole, then stopped to assemble a bolt for their partner. As EE was about to hand their partner the assembled bolt, a thin piece of shale fell on the canopy. As it broke a small piece struck the employee on the left ear. The cut required 4 stitches.
