## Narrative

The injured employee attempted to remove a belt splice pin from a mechanical splice. The employee hooked the splice pin with the claw of the first claw hammer and struck the head of the hammer with a second claw hammer in an attempt to remove the pin. A metal shard from the first claw hammer struck the employee in the arm. The metal shard had to be removed from arm by a physician.
