The mine Safety Department received notification on 3/1/17 that this employee has been awarded 0.37% for PPD from noise induced hearing loss. The employee is enrolled in a Hearing Conservation Program and is properly trained in the use and the areas where hearing protection is required. The incident occurred because the employee failed to properly use hearing protection.
