## Narrative

Contract employee was cutting the belt for making a mechanical splice, as EE was cutting the belt, the knife contacted upper leg when EE reached the edge of the belt resulting in a laceration. Cause of this injury was body positioning. Compliance with company rules was a factor and possible miner proficiency. Mining equip and/or systems & PPE not a factor.
