Employee was using utility knife to remove burrs from plastic pipe, doing so the knife slipped causing a laceration to the hand resulting in stitches. Cause of the incident was lack of employee concentration. PPE was not a factor, compliance with rules/regs was not a factor, mining equipment/mining systems was not a factor, miner proficiency was a factor.
