Narrative

Employee using a lifting jack to lower track rails while correcting a track violation. While letting the jack down to lower a rail, the jack lifting bar became stuck in rib screen. When EE freed the bar it sprung up and struck EE on the left side of face causing a laceration & contusion. EE didn't violate regulations & is properly trained & was wearing all required PPE.
