## Narrative

EE was using an 8 lbs. sledge hammer to break up a rock that was on top of the continuous miner, when they lost grip of the hammer as they were swinging it, resulting in pain to the right hand as they struck the rock with the hammer. EE did not miss any work nor have any restrictions until 10-4-2017, when they had surgery and were placed on restricted duty.
