Employee was helping crew members remove plywood after making a vulcanized splice in belt, area was low, employee struck hardhat on an exposed bolt shank causing injury. Cause of this injury was paying attention to task at hand. Compliance with rules/regs, mining equip/systems not a factor, Proper PPE (hard hat) may be a factor along with miner proficiency.
