Narrative

Employee was driving wedge with hammer in the 5W section. The employee missed the wedge and hit left thumb resulting in laceration that was treated with one suture. Cause of injury was awareness. Compliance with rules/regs, PPE, mining equip/systems not a factor. Miner proficiency may be a factor
